Along with our usual 10:00am Sunday worship services, we offer a three week Advent Alternative Worship Experience (called AWE) on Thursday evenings: 6:30pm dinner is provided and 7:00pm casual worship which finsihes by 8:00pm.
The congregation and church school enjoy a busy time of preparation through getting involved in pageant rehearsals, stuffed animal gifts for donations, decorating the altar tree with crismons (Christian symbolic ornaments), multi-generational Advent workshops, and purchasing gifts for our "adopted" families of need.
AWE! (Alternative Worship Experiences) - Special Lenten Mid-Week Services: From Ash Wednesday until the week prior to Holy Week. After the Wednesday evening Ash Wednesday service, the weekly gatherings are on Thursday evenings. These Lenten evenings begin with a light supper at 6:00pm in the Great Room fellowship hall. The congregation transitions into the church sanctuary at 7:00pm for a theatrical message that is highlighted with contemporary song.
Maundy Thursday evening begins with a 6:00 p.m. light supper followed at 7:00 p.m. with the office of the Tenebrae (Last Supper reflection) in the church sanctuary.
Good Friday has a special opportunity this year: we are offering a noon luncheon with Easter story and scavenger hunt. We will still offer reflection time in the sanctuary from 12:00pm (noon) until 5:00p.m.
Outdoor Sonrise Worship Service: Offered as the sun rises, the time of service flucuates each year as it is determined by the official sunrise for that date. This service is held at the top of Castle Hill (near the bench). We bundle up in our hats, coats, and gloves and participate in a communion celebration of the glorious morning! Following the service, there is a continental breakfast waiting in the Great Room.
Indoor 10:00 a.m. Sanctuary Traditional Worship Service: Easter morning in all its glory is celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in a full traditional service where all are welcome! Following the service the congregation is invited to a time of fellowship and refreshments in the Great Room.
