We must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said:

"It is more blessed to give that to receive." (Acts 20:35)

The Global Community Ministry (GCM) is concerned with matters related to the care of all beings. This includes, but is not limited to, local, national, international, and global missions, justice issues, and outreach. The groups within the Global Community Ministry of NCC are varied and numerous, as we view ourselves as the hands and feet of God on earth.

Our Global Community Ministry has reference resources available for assitance and have limited funds to assist our neighbors in need. However in the case of extreme and immediate need, the ministry is able to assist through community awareness and special fundraising events.

United Church of Christ (UCC)

  • Basic Support: A portion of our annual income is given to the United Church of Christ to support their programs.

  • Silver Lake Conference Center: A UCC faith enrichment camp.

  • Give 2: A program of the UCC... "We give our time and labor in the service of others, and in return we are blessed with gifts of gratitude, compassion, and wisdom. Our gifts of hospitality multipy exponentially when we work together to heal the world!"

  • Special Offerings: NCC annually participants in all of the five special UCC offerings... Neighbors in Need, Strengthen the Church, One Great Hour of Sharing, Christmas Fund (Minister's Retirement), and Basic Mission.

We're walking on behalf of families who have to walk every day just to make ends meet. Will you donate to our walk so we can reduce their journey? Every dollar you donate makes a huge difference: $60 can provide a sustainable source of healthy food for three families through fresh gardens!

  • Emergnecy Relief Buckets: For victims of hurricanes and other disasters.

Through the generosity of individuals within and outside the church membership, the shelves receive donations to support daily needs of people in our community. No questions are asked and the only requirement is that each person only take what they need for that day so others may also utilize this support. To donate, please place your donation in the bin on the lowest shelf (even it the product hasn't expired, our coordinator needs to keep track of donations)

Individual Compassion

There are also many unknown ministries and outreach endeavors by the individuals of our congregation who seek to follow the guidance of Christ as he said: "when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let you left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." (Matthew 6:2-3).

Some of the organizations our members are involved with outside of NCC:
