AWE! (Alternative Worship Experiences) - Special Services: At certain times during the year our contemporary worship ministry offers mid-week worship that is also a creative style involveing a casual and relaxed atmosphere with family style social dinner, upbeat music, and a message relevant to our daily living.
6:00PM - Potluck Dinner. As we arrive, we seat ourselves at the next available place at the extened dinner table. This gives us an opportunity to build relationships with others in attendance. Due to the fact that we have staggered arrival times, rather than beginning our dinner with the Lord's Prayer, we actually finish the meal with the prayer as our transition into worship time.
7:00PM - Worship experience. The service lasts around forty-five minutes and is always a unique creation that includes an inspirational message highlighted with contemporary song.
Palm Sunday: Children have an extra special day beginning with a palm parade during the worship service. Post worship the children get to have an egg hunt. Our parents bring one dozen filled eggs for each of their children who will participate in the egg hunt. During the worship service our Youth Group members enjoy hiding the eggs for the younger children.
Maundy Thursday: Begins with a 6:00PM light potluck supper followed at 7:00PM with the somber Office of the Tenebrae (Last Supper reflection) in the Sanctuary.
Good Friday the sanctuary is open from 9:00AM until 5:00PM for prayer and self-guided meditation. Guides and reference material are available.
Outdoor Sunrise Worship Service: Offered as the sun rises, the time of service flucuates each year as it is determined by the official sunrise for that date. The service is held at the top of Castle Hill (near the bench). We bundle up in our hats, coats, gloves, and/or blankets and participate in a communion celebration of the glorious morning! Following the service, there is a continental breakfast waiting in the Great Room.
Indoor 10:00AM Traditional Sanctuary Worship Service: Easter morning in all its glory is celebrated at 10:00AM in a full traditional service where all are welcome! Following the service the congregation is invited to a time of fellowship and refreshments in the Great Room.
