Our Location

Conveniently located within a few hours from beaches, mountains, New York City, and Boston, in the pastoral rolling hills of southern New England sits Newtown, Connecticut  - a town comprised of several small areas known as Sandy Hook, Dodgingtown, Hawleyville, and Botsford. A giant flagpole, positioned smack dab in the middle of Connecticut's Route 25 (Main Street) proudly proclaims to all visitors "Welcome to Newtown!"

Situated uphill from this renowned flagpole, in the heart of Newtown's historic district, is Newtown Congregational Church, a member of the United Church of Christ. The church, perched on ten acres bordered by Zelkovia, Crabapple, and Maple trees with a backdrop of woodlands, hopes that visitors find the property inviting. Our rustic, yet carefully tended memorial garden anchors the front of the property at the corner of Castle Hill Road and West Street and includes benches for quiet reflection. Walking trails meander into the woods just to the west of the church, leading to a secluded outdoor chapel and eventually up a hill to a breathtaking view that overlooks Newtown and the neighboring communities. It is here that we gather for sunrise worship every Easter to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord.

From I-84: Take exit 11. Turn left at end of ramp onto Wasserman Way. Follow Wasserman Way to the end. Turn right onto Route 25 / Route 6 (Main Street) and continue until you arrive upon a flag pole situated in the middle of the road.

Immediately after passing the flag pole very carefully turn left onto Church Hill Road. At the next "y", stay to the left and continue on West Street. Turn right into the Newtown Congregational Church parking lot at the first driveway. The church office is located past the main sanctuary entrance around to the side of the building.
