POWER OUTAGES
Newtown Congregational Church is able to offer fresh water, restroom facilities, and a stove for cooking during townwide power outages. There is a white dry-erase board located on the exterior wall of the church near the lower lobby entrance to leave messages for offers of help or to post where help is needed.
Inclement Weather Closures and Delays
During severe weather the office and activities follow the following policy:
If Newtown public schools close:
-Daytime NCC activities will be cancelled.
-Evening activities are at the discretion of the leader of each group.
If the Newtown public schools have a morning delay:
-NCC office will open at noon.
-Morning activities will be cancelled.
Sundays:
-Worship cancellations will be put onto the telephone voice mail and listed with TV Channel 8 by 8:30am.
If the office has your current email address and internet service is available, we will send an email to confirm if worship is cancelled.
If the weather or roads are questionable, please drive only if you feel confident that it is safe.
